NordicTrack EXP 7i: NordicTrack T Series Treadmill

NordicTrack has introduced the NordicTrack EXP 7i to its T Series treadmills. This unit is excellent for home use and comes at a reasonable price. This new model features solid engineering and a good guarantee. The EXP 7i, like many NordicTrack products, is iFit-enabled. It also includes a 1-year Family membership, valued at $486.

The 7-inch HD Smart Touchscreen is Bluetooth enabled and allows users to either continue with iFit Coach or switch to their TV, tablet, or smartphone. The EXP 7i is priced at $1,099 and matches well with the Horizon treadmill family, including the 7.4AT. One notable difference is that the Horizon treadmills offer multiple online workout programs, as opposed to iFit.

What we like

• Large running track: The EXP 7i’s running belt measures 60 inches in length and 20 inches in width. It is wider than the industry standard, and it works well for taller and heavier users.
• Smart-Response Drive: NordicTrack has increased the ante with an intelligent system that self-cools and reduces vibration through better technology. This system reduces strain on the body and replicates real-world road running.
• EKG Grip Pulse heartrate monitoring: NordicTrack also includes grip-based heart monitors that can be used in conjunction with iFit or on its own.
• 1-year iFit Family membership: Google Maps Workouts is included in the dynamic program, and live trainers can remotely control the speed and incline of your treadmill. You will find a virtual library of workouts, along with new routines every day. The iFit program has programs that range from HIIT to slow walking, and you can participate in any class.
• SpaceSaver(r), Design with EasyLift ™ Assist: This feature makes it possible to move around as you need, with space being at a premium in your home.
• 3.0 CHP Motor Plus Commercial: The 3.0 motor is a solid motor used for running, walking or jogging. It’s large enough to accommodate larger users without sacrificing performance or comfort.

What we don’t like

• There are no built-in programs: The treadmill comes with a 1-year subscription for iFit. After that, it’s up to the user.

The NordicTrack T Series offers the EXP 7i as a mid-level treadmill. The EXP 7i features a 7-inch HD Smart Touchscreen and Bluetooth audio capabilities. Two 2-inch digitally amplified speakers are also included. The iFit program also has automatic trainer control. Trainers can adjust speed or incline.

The treadmill has a maximum speed of 12 mph and a maximum incline of 12%. It also features OneTouch(r), Controls, and a Maximum Speed of 12 mph. The treadmill has an AutoBreeze(tm), Workout Fan that keeps users cool. An integrated tray allows them to place phones and other items inside the tray while they run.

The frame measures are 77.3 inches long, 35.3 inches wide, and 59.6 inches high. The 3.0 CHP Commercial Plus Motor powers it. The machine can support 300 lbs of maximum weight and operates on 1.9-inch precision and balance rollers. NordicTrack offers a 10-year warranty for the frame, two years on the parts and one year of labour.

About iFit coach

The iFit Coach program allows professional trainers to come to your home via the treadmill’s screen. To keep pace with the session, the trainers can adjust the resistance and speed of the machine. Google Maps Workouts is also available to users. Users can run virtually anywhere on Earth with a map and even along beaches and mountains. In addition, you can find HIIT programs for slow walks in the library or in the daily routines that are generated. Each Family Membership includes four profiles. This allows multiple members to have customized workouts and data tracking.

Our verdict

The NordicTrack lineup has been a favourite of ours for a long time, and the EXP 7i makes a great middle-ground between the T6.5 Si and EXP 101. The T 6.5 Si and the EXP 7i cost $1,099, but the latter has a larger screen, a wider belt, and a steeper slope. Both come with a 1-year iFit family membership plan valued at $486. This makes them more affordable than the Horizon 7.4 AT treadmill, which costs $999. This model is worth a look at. We anticipate great things in 2021.
